“Jack and the Zombie Attack” and “Jack and the Pirate Attack” are illustrated and written by married couple Chris and Amy Hernandez. These are descriptive and poetic tongue twisters that follow Jack’s adventures be it becoming a zombie or battling pirates to save bullies while showing compassion. Their new title Jack and the Alien Attack is set to release in the summer of 2020 and will debut at Comic Con International 2020. It is their ultimate achievement to entertain, foster creativity, and instill a moral lesson to all readers young and old. Their stories they create bring pop culture and adventure to children’s literacy.
The stories are a literary anomaly, with rich vocabulary and content new to the children’s literature world. Amy Hernandez, the author, has a Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology, and a Masters of Art in Education. She has been an educator for 15 years and has worked with children in the public school system for 18 years.
The illustrations can only be described as fantastical, creative and brilliant in every way. The attention to detail and color will captivate the minds of children and adults alike. Chris Hernandez is an amazing illustrator and designer, who completed his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration at California State University Fullerton. He has remained a successful free-lance artist and art instructor.
As a team, Chris and Amy Hernandez encourage children to follow their dreams through reading, writing and art. They speak at public school events, have been featured in multiple newspapers, radio shows and are exhibitors at Comic Con International, Wonder Con, Los Angeles Comic Con and The Los Angeles Times Book Festival.
